The time in the NFL where workhorse running backs can expect to see 25-30 carries a game is fading. Change of pace and goal line backs are becoming more and more commonplace, to the point where finding a team with a true lead running back really is a rare commodity. With about half an offseason down the drain at this point, it seems clear that this trend of confusing backfields is going to continue.
