Baylor University: Bears Lose Texas Bowl on "Baylor Day"
The Baylor Bears were celebrated for their achievements before the Texas Bowl on Wednesday, as Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker declared Wednesday "Baylor Day" and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett declared it "Baylor Bears 2010 Texas Bowl Day."
The Bears hadn't been to a bowl game since the 1994 Alamo Bowl until their 38-14 loss at the hands of the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Regardless of their loss, hats off to Mayor Parker and Judge Emmett for honoring the squad.
The Bears finished 7-6 on the season.
QB Robert Griffin III finished with 306 yards passing and a touchdown and receiver Kendall Wright caught 12 passes for 127 yards and a TD.
