From the studio to the sidelines, Bill Cowher knows his football.
That being said, it's no surprise the 55-year-old former head coach is interested in returning to the NFL at some point during his lifetime.
Don't get your hopes up, fans of the teams currently without a head coach. It appears this move is quite some time away—even with all the firings we've witnessed since the conclusion of the NFL regular season.
According to Bob Glauber of Newsday, Cowher replied, "Yes," when asked whether or not he plans on returning to coaching at some point.
It has been quite a long layoff for the former Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl-winning head man. He hasn't coached in the league since 2006, spending time with CBS' morning-coverage team since then and staying active in head-coaching rumors each season.
Even though it's been quite some time, Cowher apparently isn't worried about his six-year layoff affecting his ability to adapt to the ever-changing game.
