Breaking News: Dennis Dixon To Start For the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Season Opener

As expected, Dennis Dixon will be the starting quarterback on Sunday when the Steelers play the Falcons. Mike Tomlin announced this in his press conference today.

It was only a matter of time before Mike Tomlin chose Dixon as the starter. Dixon has the most upside and he's a dual threat QB who will worry defensive coordinators more.
As a result, the blitzes have to be more controlled, less man to man coverage will be played to keep Dixon in the pocket, and the receivers will have more room to work with.
That special package for him now has a better chance of success since he is starting. Why? Because he can run them at anytime and opposing teams will never know when one is being run. It brings that unpredictability to the offense that was missing last year.
