Breaking News: Ty Warren Done for 2010 NFL Season

Per ESPN.com/Boston's Mike Reiss, Ty Warren's hip injury is serious enough to require surgery that will sideline him for the upcoming season.  The New England Patriots went ahead and placed the veteran defensive end on injured reserve Friday afternoon.
While it's undoubtedly a blow to their depth on the defensive line, it's not as large of a loss as it appears at first glance.  It may make me unpopular in some circles to say this, but short of his strong character and leadership capabilities, he hasn't been the asset many have made him out to be in recent years.
Since signing a big money deal prior to the 2007 season, he hasn't come within 30 tackles or three sacks of the career numbers he put up in 2006.  What he has been though, is habitually nicked up, missing three games in each of the last two seasons.
