Carlos Hyde Injury Update: 49ers Place RB on Season-Ending Injured Reserve

The San Francisco 49ers announced the team placed running back Carlos Hyde on the season-ending injured reserve list Saturday, and tight end Brian Leonhardt will take his place on the active roster.
Hyde has been out since suffering a stress fracture in a Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
The second-year running back got off to a great start on Monday Night Football in Week 1, rushing for 168 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-3 victory against the Minnesota Vikings.
He never broke 100 yards in the next six games, though, and scored just one touchdown. The 49ers have struggled to replace him, using a myriad of backups. Former starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick is second on the team with 256 rushing yards.
The team gave former rugby star Jarryd Hayne a chance at running back but eventually cut him.
