Cecil Shorts, Texans Agree on New Contract: Latest Details and Reaction

After a shaky first season with the Houston Texans, wide receiver Cecil Shorts agreed to a pay cut Saturday.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the 28-year-old veteran's new contract will result in him making $1 million less than originally agreed upon in the second and final year of his deal:  
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network (via Kevin Patra of NFL.com) confirmed the deal, citing a "source who has seen the deal."
After four campaigns with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shorts signed with the Texans last offseason. He missed five games due to injury in 2015, however, and finished with his worst production since his rookie year with 42 receptions for 484 yards and two touchdowns.
Injuries have been Shorts' Achilles' heel so far during his career, as he has never played in more than 14 games in a single season.
He can be dynamic when healthy, though, as evidenced by his 55-catch, 979-yard, eight-touchdown campaign in 2012.
