Cleveland Browns: Brandon Weeden Shouldn’t Look over His Shoulder

There may or may not be an open quarterback competition when training camp opens for the Cleveland Browns in Berea, Ohio on July 24, but according to NFL.com, the job should go to Brandon Weeden.
Jason Campbell was brought in to serve as a backup to the second-year signal-caller, but Weeden is familiar with the team and the players he will be surrounded by. Should Weeden fail, Campbell will be ready to go.
Though he threw more interceptions than touchdown passes as a rookie in 2012, Weeden did set a new franchise record for passing yards by a first-year player with 3,385 yards. The key in 2013 will be the weapons the team has brought in.
Wide receiver Josh Gordon will be suspended for the first two games (ESPN) of the year due to a violation of the league's substance abuse policy, but Weeden will have other players to throw the ball to.
