Cleveland Browns’ Clifton Geathers Is Definitely a “Monster” In Training

Clifton Geathers was nicknamed the "Monster" on draft day by Browns GM Tom Heckert and at 6'7", 300 lbs with excellent athleticism, that may turn out to be an apt moniker.
Geathers was a highly touted prep prospect, who graduated from Hargrave Military and spent the fall of his freshman year at prep school. He originally committed to Georgia before changing his mind and electing to go with the Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks defensive end was suspended for the season opener of his junior year after a bar fight.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the 6-7, 300-pound Geathers looked like a man among boys on the field at rookie camp. On one kickoff coverage drill, Geathers pancaked a 200 lbs punter holding a blocking pad in front of him.
It was Jonathan Thoma from Ohio State, in camp on a tryout. Coach Mangini scolded Geathers and said "he needs to be careful with the smaller kids on the playground."
