Cleveland Browns Sign Clifton Geathers To Multi-Year Contract

The Cleveland Browns announced late Monday night that the team has come to terms on a multi-year contract with 2010 draft pick, Clifton Geathers.

Geathers is expected to become a key piece of the defensive puzzle this year for the Browns who will be looking at him to fill in behind defensive end, Robaire Smith. Clifton was drafted 186th overall earlier this season and is the first draft pick to sign with the Browns this offseason.

For fans who do not know much about Clifton Geathers, they may learn about him very quickly. Even though he was dubbed “a work in progress” by many draft experts, the 6'7" “monster” from South Carolina should get his opportunities early and often in 2010.

Many representatives from the Cleveland Browns including head coach Eric Mangini have been quick to praise Geathers throughout the early season minicamps, which makes his early signing even less of a surprise.
