Colin Kaepernick Injury: Updates on 49ers QB’s Recovery from Thumb, Knee Surgery

As San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to progress from offseason surgeries, his timetable to get back on the field remains unclear.

Kelly: Kaepernick Not Medically Cleared Tuesday, May 17 Per Mindi Bach of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, 49ers head coach Chip Kelly told reporters Kaepernick has not yet been medically cleared and is not taking part in practices with the team. 
Kaepernick was beset by injuries last year, starting with a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder that required surgery in November. 
Three months later, Kaepernick had surgery to repair a partially torn ligament in his right thumb and some floating bodies in his left knee, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. 
Per Bach's post, Kelly did note that Kaepernick's recovery will not set him back in the 49ers' quarterback competition, adding he has no set timetable to name a starter for the 2016 season and...
