Darrelle Revis: Were The Jets Ever Serious About Signing Revis?

It's official.
New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum and principal owner Woody Johnson have no intention of signing All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis.
The only question is when are they going to admit Revis is gone for good?
Today's press reports of Johnson predicting Revis may not play at all compounded by Tannenbaum's assessment that the Jets will concentrate on the players that are in camp versus actually signing the team's first bona fide superstar since Curtis Martin.
You can forget about seeing Revis in a Jet's uniform anytime soon, if not ever again!
As I stated in a previous post, it's been my contention that the Jets never had any intention of signing Revis, which takes us to the place we find Gang Green today.
Like the John Riggins fiasco of the 1970's, the Jets would rather trade their best player than make him the league's highest paid cornerback.
It's really that simple.
