Denver’s Josh McDaniels: A Defense-Minded Coach?

Many Broncos' fans were clamoring for a defense-minded coach after Shanahan was fired. We were all surprised by the hiring of Patriots' offensive coordinator McDaniels. But after two years, it seems like we may have gotten a defense-minded coach after all.
 
In McD's first year, it is well noted that the defense got significantly better while the offense got a little bit worse.
 
Here is the silver lining: McD is also pretty good at offense. While he was the offensive coordinator for the Patriots, they set a record as the highest scoring offense ever. And now, the Broncos have the number one passing offense.
 
Unfortunately, we also have the 30th ranked running offense, and our rushing yards per attempt are dead last. Let's take that with a grain of salt though. Our offensive line and our RBs are banged up. Our O-line features more than one rookie starter.
