Detroit Lions Secondary Under Fire: One Day Until O.J. Atogwe Is a Free Agent

By now everyone knows that tomorrow marks the day when St Louis Rams star safety Oshiomogho (O.J.) Atogwe will become an unrestricted free agent. Fans have been drooling over the possibility of their team signing this guy for weeks, maybe none more so than us crazy Lions fans.
It doesn't take an expert to notice that the Lions have a couple gaping holes in their secondary. Shoot, they have been there for years!
And any common NFL fan or Madden player knows who Atogwe is, and how good he can be on the field. It's a no brainer for any team with an issues in their secondary, or is it?
Well first off Atogwe will be turning 29 years old on June 23, he's not as young as many people think. Second, he's going to want big money, and I mean BIG money. Like over $7M a year big, and that kind of spending splurge isn't a common thing in June, unless a team is locking up one of their rookies.
