Detroit Lions Should Pounce On St. Louis Rams’ O.J. Atogwe This Offseason

Oshiomogho (I will call him O.J from now on, I promise) Atogwe, the young free safety for the St. Louis Rams, will become an unrestricted free agent on June 1st . Atogwe could very well be the key addition to the Lions' secondary we have been hoping for.
Atogwe, a Windsor, Ontario native, was originally tendered by the Rams for a 1st and 3rd round draft pick. This was largely a financial move by the Rams, who would have been on the hook for $6.976 million (110%) of his 2009 salary.
No team would bite on that.
The cash-strapped Rams then decided to tender Atogwe for the absolute minimum $1.226 million. This was the “First Right Of Refusal” tender. Atogwe has, thus far, refused to sign the lowball offer.
Atogwe will become an unrestricted free agent on June 1st .
