Detroit Lions: With the First Pick, the Lions Select Brent Grimes

This past week, the Atlanta Falcons placed a first-round tender on their "shut down" corner Brent Grimes.
While some of you may not agree with me that he is a "shut down" corner, I will argue it to my last key stroke.
He is a tackling machine at the corner position; he racked up 87 tackles in 16 starts in 2010. He was also responsible for five interceptions with 23 passes deflected.
I am almost positive that the top two corners in the draft, Prince Amukamara and Patrick Peterson, will not be available at the 13th spot in the draft.
So why not send our pick to Atlanta for a proven NFL corner that we know can play at this level?
The other big factor is that we already have two ex-Falcons in our secondary with the recent signing of Erik Coleman and last year’s acquisition, CB Chris Houston.
That’s if we can find a way to keep Houston for 2011. That being said, it would not be a patchwork secondary that has never played together...
