Devin Hester Injury: Updates on Falcons WR’s Toe and Return

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Devin Hester could be out of action for a substantial period of time due to a case of turf toe.

Hester Out for Week 1 Saturday, Sept. 12 Falcons head coach Dan Quinn revealed Hester is out for Monday's season opener against Philadelphia. 
However, Hester's absence could extend beyond this week. Speaking to ESPN.com's Vaughn McClure, the 32-year-old said he's planning to sit out until his toe is 100 percent healthy. 
"... With turf toes, they just need time to heal," Hester said. "I think this is what I did with this one. I came back on it too early. I feel like [missing] one or two games is better than four or five games."
This has been a lingering issue for Hester, who did not play in Atlanta's final preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens with the toe injury.
