Dre’ Bly Is Back to Bring Leadership to Detroit Lions

Sorry for the famous Detroit MC reference there, but this is an exciting day for fans of the Detroit Lions.
That's right, folks, GM Martin Mayhew kept his promise to add a veteran cornerback before training camp. Today, the Detroit Lions have signed their former star player (and two-time Pro Bowler), Dre' Bly, to a two-year contract.
Bly, who just turned 33 in May, is certainly on the downside of his career, but that doesn't take away from the impact of his return.
During his time as a Detroit Lion (2003-06), Bly had 19 interceptions, and was the only reliable cornerback on the team.
Not only are the Lions hopeful he'll snag a few interceptions over the next two seasons, but that he'll also play a vital leadership role and provide depth at their weakest position.
If things go as planned, it appears Detroit may open the season with Chris Houst...
