Emmitt Smith officially entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday night with a speech that echoed his the greatness he showed on the field throughout his career.
In his induction, Smith reunites the 'triplets' along side the greatest players in the history of the game.
He spoke of his desire to succeed and his desire to win. He talked of setting goals to play in the NFL, to win a Super Bowl, to become MVP, to become the NFL's leading rusher, and to finish college because he promised his mother he would.
Smith accomplished all of those goals and more. Statistically, he is the best running back to ever grace the field. He leads every back to ever play in yards, carries, and rushing touchdowns.
His combination of running, receiving, and blocking ability made him a vital part of three Super Bowl teams.
What made Emmitt so special on the field was how great a teammate he was, and that is the same thing that made his induction speech great.
