Ex-NFL Players File Lawsuit Against Riddell Regarding Helmet Safety

A group of ex-NFL players headed by former Pro Bowl wide receiver Yancey Thigpen filed a lawsuit against helmet manufacturer Riddell Friday.  
According to ESPN.com, the players are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and a jury trial, as they allege that Riddell did not inform them of which ailments and long-term health issues its helmets could not prevent.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout is joined by Gregory Boone, Larry Brinson, Michael Butler, Craig Curry, James Harrell, Willard Harrell, Robert Harris, Carlton "Bailey" Jones, Brad Quast, Thomas "John" Reaves, John Michael Reichenbach, Adam Schreiber and Eric Wright in the suit.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and Green Bay Packers legend Paul Hornung filed a similar lawsuit against Riddell last week, but it was not revealed what damages he is seeking, perESPN.com.
Riddell was the official helmet of the NFL from 1989 until 2013 when the league ended its partnership with the company.
