Falcons Order $200 Million in Changes to New Mercedes-Benz Stadium Project

The Atlanta Falcons are less than a year away from opening their new state-of-the-art stadium, but it's going to cost a little more money than they thought.
Per Tim Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons have requested approximately $200 million worth of changes to Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to a May 31 report from the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA).
The report stated the total amount comes out to $199.5 million for changes to the $1 billion-plus Atlanta stadium that's set to open in June 2017.
Originally, the Falcons' new home was set to open in March 2017, but Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the delay was due to complications with the steel structure that's supposed to support the retractable roof and video board, per Tucker. The GWCCA is also waiting for final reviews on the aforementioned structure.
