Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Advice: Get ’em or Don’t Sweat ’em – Week 1

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

QBs
Shaun Hill, Detroit Lions–Was pressed into service because of Matthew Stafford’s injury. That doesn’t mean he should be on your fantasy radar though. Not unless you’re in a two-QB league.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

David Garrard, Jacksonville Jaguars–Garrard continued to play well at home, completing 16-of-21 passes for 170 yards, and three TDs. He added 10 yards on the ground. He’s a decent back-up when he plays at home.
Ruling:  Get ‘em (Especially if you have Stafford)

Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles-Vick went 16-for-24 for 175 yards, and a TD filling in for Kevin Kolb (concussion). He added 103 yards on the ground. The Eagles play the Lions next week, and given the way the Eagles dealt with concussions last year, Vick could get the nod.<...
