The private conversations among the Denver Broncos coaching staff about the quarterback position must be something to listen to these days.
The Broncos were winning early in the year with Peyton Manning at quarterback, but they were struggling badly on offense. It all came to a head during a home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10 when Manning fell apart, as he completed 5-of-20 passes for 35 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions.
Manning is injured and had little left in the tank. He was replaced in that game by Brock Osweiler, and Manning has remained on the bench as he tries to get healthy.
Meanwhile, Osweiler has led the Broncos to three straight victories, and the offense is functioning at a higher level than it did with Manning at quarterback.
