The San Francisco 49ers’ offseason has been a storm of biblical proportions.
This is truly a different team than we’ve seen in recent years, as CSN’s Matt Maiocco portrayed less than a week ago:
Among those departures is wide receiver Michael Crabtree, now with the Oakland Raiders, who recently took a major shot at quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
“I needed new scenery. It wasn’t for me,” Crabtree told Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday. “I needed a quarterback that can deliver the ball, and that was hungry like I was.”
Ouch. The King Crab lined up alongside Kaepernick for three full seasons, often as his top target, but will now be catching balls from second-year signal-caller Derek Carr.
“With all the stuff going on on the other side, it just feels so good to be on this side,” Crabtree went on. “Just play ball and don’t worry about too much. Just play ball.”
