Giants-Lions: New York Holds Off Detroit’s Late Surge for 3rd Straight Win

Just because the New York Giants were supposed to win Sunday’s game against didn’t mean it was going to be a cakewalk.
The Giants got key performances from Ahmad Bradshaw and Eli Manning, while the defense made big plays in the 28-20 win over the Detroit Lions.
The win put New York on a three-game winning streak heading into a Monday night showdown versus the arch rival, Dallas Cowboys.
They also avoided what would have been an embarrassing loss to a team that entered the day on a 23-game road losing streak spanning three seasons.
“Games aren’t always going to be blowouts,” Giants offensive tackle David Diehl said after the game. “Games aren’t just going to click where everything happens. This was a grinder game and we stuck together and made it happen. We have a lot of confidence in each other.”
