Good For Him: Darrelle Revis Holdout Saga, Part 1

Thursday, June 3rd marked the first day of Darrelle Revis' holdout during this offseason. It is very simple: he wants the most money of anyone at his position. He wants a bigger contract than Nnamdi Asomugha. The Jets promised him that they would do that.
If he is holding out and complaining about the contract negotiations, that clearly means that the team isn't keeping its word. For that reason, I want to start this post by commending Mr. Revis for holding out. He deserves the biggest contract of anyone at the cornerback position, and everyone knows that. If he feels like he is getting shafted by the team and that the organization is ripping him off, then he should respond with a threat of some sort.
Holding out sends the message that he is unhappy with the talks he and his agent are having with the team. That is exactly the message that he wants to send, and he is getting that message across. This should definitely make things interesting.
