Hey Drafters! Don’t Reach for a Tight End in 2010!

In the fourth round, that's when you'll typically see tight ends fly off the board. Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark, Vernon Davis, Jason Witten, Tony Gonzalez. Those guys will be selected within 20 picks of each other.
If you play in a standard scoring 10-team league, there's no good reason to reach that early for a TE. Sure, it's nice to have a decent scoring threat at TE, but the potential value of a breakout player picked from No. 40 to 60 is simply too great. 
Here are some 2009 examples of guys you could've had from pick 40 to 60, according to 2009 ADP lists: WR Vincent Jackson, WR Chad OchoCinco, WR DeSean Jackson, RB Joseph Addai, WR Brandon Marshall, RB Thomas Jones, RB Jonathan Stewart.
All of these guys outperformed the highest selected tight ends in '09. You could've had both TE Brent Celek and TE Vernon Davis in the 14th or 15th round! Both players had huge seasons and were likely free agent pickups in most casual fantasy leagues.
