According to Philadelphiaeagles.com, Eagles starting strong safety, Quintin Mikell has suffered a minor MCL injury. The site does not elaborate on how the injury occurred.
Chris McPherson of Philadelphiaeagles.com reported, “The starter opposite of [Nate] Allen, strong safety Quintin Mikell, suffered a sprained MCL during the OTA's but will be ready for the start of camp, per Reid.”
This doesn't seem much of a concern at the moment, but the Eagles are very thin at safety. We will keep a close eye on this one.
**UPDATE**:
Safety Quintin Mikell left the practice about mid-way through after tweaking his knee. I'm good," Mikell said after practice, warding off concerns.
As for the action on the field, Quintin Demps stepped in as the first-team safety alongside rookie Nate Allen once Mikell left the field, and seemed to work well with Allen, offering pointers throughout.
