Tucker Will Get Franchise Tag If Deal Is Not Done Wednesday, Feb. 24 Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome spoke about Tucker's situation Wednesday, saying there have been "some discussions" regarding his contract situation, per the Ravens:
Tucker, who is an unrestricted free agent, made $2.4 million in 2015. If the team attaches the franchise tag to him, he would remain in Baltimore next year and make about $4.1 million, per Albert Breer of NFL Media (h/t/ Kevin Patra of NFL.com).
It wouldn't be an exorbitant amount of money to pay the 26-year-old considering he has been one of the most accurate kickers during his four-year career and his 61-yard field goal on Dec. 16, 2013, is just three yards short of the NFL record.
