Kevin Kolb: Why Trading for the Philadelphia Eagles Backup Is a Bad Idea

Yesterday while I was driving home from work I was listening to The LaVar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes on 106.7 The Fan in Washington D.C.
They were discussing the Philadelphia Eagles and their backup quarterback Kevin Kolb.
The two hosts were debating whether or not Kolb was worth a first-round draft pick.
Dukes offered that spending a first-round pick on Kolb would be like drafting a quarterback anyways since Kolb is relatively young.
Also, since Kolb has started several NFL games (and has done a good job), you won't have to worry about grooming a rookie.  You'll have a game ready young veteran already.
All good points by Dukes, but then LaVar countered with maybe the smartest thing I've ever heard him say.
"If Kolb is so great, why would the Eagles go out and get Michael Vick three years ago?"  LaVar also went on to say that if Vick could become the quarterback he was in Atlanta; he could take McNabb's job as well.
