LaDainian Tomlinson Signs Two-Year Deal with New York Jets

Former San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson had a busy week on his free agent tour and ended it by going to dinner with Jets head coach Rex Ryan, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and other team brass.
In the end, it looks like Tomlinson is in an Empire State of mind.
Sunday night, Tomlinson's agent Tom Condon confirmed to The New York Daily News that his client had indeed signed a two-year contract with the New York Jets worth $5.2 million, but can increase to $5.7 million with incentives.
Other sources had stated the contract was worth $5.1 million, with an incentive booster to $5.6 million.
"He wanted to go to a team that he thought had a chance to compete for the championship," Condon told the AP. "He wanted to go somewhere where he had a chance to have a significant role, and so with the Jets he also was going to be very familiar with the offensive system."
