‘Let Me Get This Straight’ on Rob Gronkowski’s Non-Serious Back Surgery

Nobody can argue with the body of work we've seen from New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. His actual body, however, is falling apart faster than the plot of a Nicholas Cage movie. 
Add "back surgery" to the laundry list of injuries we've seen from Gronk in his still-short career. The guy is 24 going on 105, apparently. To quote the renowned Life Alert commercial, "He's fallen...and he's only in the second season of an eight-year deal!"
Will Gronk get himself together in time for Week 1 of the NFL season? One can hope, but would it be the end of the world if the Patriots' star tight end wasn't able to go? New England still has Aaron Hernandez, Jake Ballard and Michael Hoomanawanui on the roster. That's not to suggest that Gronkowski is remotely expendable, but would his loss really be the difference between a playoff berth in the AFC and sitting at home in January?
