Manti Te’o Injury: Updates on Chargers LB’s Foot

Manti Te'o kicked off his NFL career in the San Diego Chargers' preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, but fans of No. 50 will have to wait at least another week before seeing him on the field again.
According to Chris Wesseling of NFL.com, the rookie linebacker will be held out of practice this week and will not play in the team's second preseason game against the Chicago Bears due to a foot sprain. Te'o is currently in a walking boot.
The popular Notre Dame product started the team's first preseason game, but he failed to make a tackle. He also came off the field in the team's nickel package on passing downs. The Chargers lost 31-10.
Te'o was the team's second-round draft choice in the 2013 NFL draft after he had a strong career at Notre Dame. The 6'1", 241-pound linebacker had 113 tackles, seven interceptions and 1.5 sacks in his final season at South Bend.
