The NFL and the NFLPA were unable to strike a new labor deal last week (or even another extension), which means the 2011 NFL offseason and regular season are in limbo as of this moment.
Thank goodness for March Madness.
Yesterday was Selection Sunday and, for football fans, a welcome distraction from all the labor negotiations and soon-to-become public feud between the NFL and its players.
Productivity at the workplace will drop substantially this week, particularly on Thursday and Friday (click here if you need a primer on how to follow March Madness at the office and on-the-go). Remember that the tournament now features 68 teams, so there will be four meaningful games starting Tuesday. So that means Monday and Tuesday will be spent filling out brackets, which means even less productivity.
The heck with it, just take the week off!
