Every once in a while, a play becomes so legendary from the minute it happens, its anniversary begs celebration.
Such is the case with Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch's "Beast Quake"—five years ago Friday.
Charging out of a wall of defenders, breaking eight tackles and throwing several brutal stiff arms, Beast Mode carried the rock for 67 yards and the score on a play that appeared dead three yards in.
With the colossal run, the Emerald City clinched a victory over the visiting New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round of the NFL's 2011 playoffs—infinitely more memorable now that the Seahawks find themselves entering the first wave of postseason play and what should be Lynch's first game since mid-November.
