Matt Moore Re-Signs With Dolphins: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction

The Miami Dolphins were big spenders in the initial wave of free agency. They took steps on a busy Friday to retain several other important pieces, including backup quarterback Matt Moore.

Moore re-signed to stay in Miami, according to an official announcement by the Dolphins. ESPN.com's Adam Caplan adds that Moore's contract is of the one-year variety.

This adds to the team's list of retention-centric transactions from Friday; Miami opted to bring back safety Louis Delmas and running back LaMichael James as well, per the team's official Twitter account.

Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey spoke highly of Delmas and Moore in particular once their futures with the team were secured, per the team's official website:

I am happy that we have been able to reach agreements with Louis and Matt to keep them as members of the Miami Dolphins. Louis was a quality addition to Miami last season who added energy and playmaking ability from the safety position. ...
