Mel Kiper 2011 NFL Mock Draft Has Seahawks Taking a Chance on Locker
The Jake Locker story is a good one. I'm not so sure if it's book-worthy, mind you, but it might be comic book-worthy.
Either way, we all know the story. The now-former Washington QB was billed as a potential No. 1 overall draft pick before the 2010 college football season kicked off, and his stock was subsequently crippled by a season riddled by injuries and ineffectiveness.
Yet here we are less than two weeks from Draft Day, and Locker is still projected to go in the first round. That's a pretty good testament to his potential.
Mel Kiper has Locker going 25th overall to the Seattle Seahawks in his latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft (must have ESPN Insider), which is a pretty typical landing spot for Locker. The Seahawks need a quarterback, and they have the time and means to develop Locker, a Washington native.
