Michael Vick Couldn’t Win the MVP on Tuesday, but He Certainly Lost It

By my estimation Michael Vick entered Tuesday's game trailing Tom Brady in the MVP hunt.
If he could have fought through the cancellation and put the Vikings to rest, he would have narrowed the gap a bit—especially if he put on a display like everybody in the stands expected him to.

He would have kept the Eagles in the hunt for that first round bye. Next week he could go finish off Dallas and put the ghosts of last year's collapse to rest. If Tom Brady sat idle, who knows—Vick could have at least made the MVP race interesting.
Flash back to last night's game, and the worst nightmare occurred. Not only did the Eagles, minus LeSean McCoy, look flat, but Michael Vick limped away a battered man. Those dreams of capping off his comeback season with an MVP trophy were dashed, as were the Eagles' hopes for a first-round bye.

That bye would be especially beneficial to give Vick and DeSean Jackson some rest. That still may happen next week, as the Eagles are ...
