Mike McCoy: Broncos Offensive Coordinator Headed For Cleveland or Kansas City?

January 14, 2011   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Mike McCoy, the Broncos offensive coordinator, was seemingly reunited with his former boss this week when Denver hired John Fox as their new head coach.
McCoy was Fox's quarterbacks coach from 2003-08. But McCoy's return to Denver in 2011 isn't a guarantee.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, new Browns head coach Pat Schurmer is interested in bringing McCoy in as his new offensive coordinator. Similarly, the NFL Network reported earlier this week that the Kansas City Chiefs are looking at McCoy to replace the departed Charlie Weis, who is headed to the Florida Gators.
Still, McCoy is a likely candidate to remain at his post in Denver, according to the Denver Post.
In his second year at the helm of the Denver offense, McCoy improved the Broncos passing offense from 13th to 7th in the NFL.
