Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary has been out of coaching for the past two years, but the Hall of Fame linebacker could find himself back in the league in 2016.

Latest on Singletary's Coaching Status Thursday, Jan. 21 According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the New York Giants granted the 57-year-old legend an interview Thursday for their vacant linebackers coach position.
Singletary spent parts of three seasons as the Niners head coach from 2008 through 2010, but after going just 18-22 and failing to make the playoffs, he was fired.
He subsequently served as an assistant to the head coach and linebackers coach with the Minnesota Vikings from 2011 through 2013; however, he was let go after the firing of Leslie Frazier.
