As per a report from Brian Murphy of the St. Paul Pioneer Press , Minnesota Vikings veteran defensive tackle Pat Williams will be returning for the 2010 season.
News came from the mouth of Williams' agent Angelo Wright, saying "trust me, I know what Pat Williams is doing. Pat Williams is playing."
Williams told reporters after the 31-28 loss to New Orleans in the NFC Championship Game that he was "50-50" on his decision to retire this off season.
Wright added "I talked to Pat Williams three or four times in the last week. He'll be playing next season."
Despite elbow and shoulder injuries, the 37-year-old Williams finished the '09 season with 44 tackles and two sacks, playing a key role in the Vikings second-place run defense.
Williams is slated to earn $4.25 million during a season in which he will be turning 38.
The Vikings organization has yet to issue an official release on this story.
