Minnesota Vikings Draft Revealed and Solved by Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes, or at least his methods, can amaze Vikings fans by accurately predicting who the team will select in the upcoming draft, and even suggest improvements, simply by using a few facts, they may not know, as a basis of deduction.
 
Holmes told his sidekick Dr. Watson: “You know my methods,” just like Vikings head coach Brad Childress probably explains to his Vice President of Player Personnel Rick Spielman.
 
They start with the simple fact that, in exactly three weeks from tomorrow April Fools' Day, the NFL is giving the Vikings eight picks in seven rounds, one each round with an additional pick in round five.
 
Holmes would assume the Vikings need to draft by position, instead of selecting the best player available, after the team has done essentially nothing to meet position needs in free agency.
 
Holmes would ask Childress to list what he considers to be the Vikings top eight needs:
