The highly anticipated 2016 NFL draft is finally here for the Minnesota Vikings and 31 other teams, with the first round kicking off Thursday night from Chicago.
Barring a move up or down the board, Minnesota's first pick in the opening round will come at No. 23 overall.
This year's draft is another opportunity for general manager Rick Spielman and the Vikings to build on a roster that improved from seven wins in head coach Mike Zimmer's first season to 11 in 2015—a promising year that ended with Minnesota winning the NFC North and hosting a playoff game for the first time since 2009.
The next logical step in the progression line for the Vikings is to become a true Super Bowl contender in 2016.
In the following slides, we will develop one final top-100 big board and seven-round mock draft for the Vikings before the start of Thursday night's first round.
