NBC Tabs Carrie Underwood as New Singer of Sunday Night Football Theme

After parting ways with Faith Hill, NBC has tabbed Carrie Underwood as the new voice for its theme song to Sunday Night Football. 
NBC Sports passed along the news: 
Hill had been carrying the theme song duties for the past six years, but she decided earlier this offseason that it was time to pass the torch.  
Enter Underwood, a fellow star in the country music scene. Grabbing the former American Idol winner isn't exactly breaking any mold for NBC, as Underwood shares a lot of similarities with Hill. 
Buoyed by singles like Cowboy Casanova, Underwood's debut album Some Hearts was a commercial and critical success. Three more albums later, and she is a multi-platinum recording artist and has hauled in six Grammys.
Underwood tweeted a teaser to this news on Monday:
