New England Patriots 2010 Training Camp: Wes Welker Update

Today marked Wes Welker's return to training with pads on after he passed a physical test and was cleared to practice with the rest of the team. Welker was allowed to take part in all the drills his other teammates took part in, though he has not been cleared to take part in contact drills as shown when he left the main field when the focus of the practice shifted to 11-on-11 work.
This is another major step for Welker in his recovery from his ACL tear which he suffered during a week 17 match up against the Texans at the end of last season. The next step will be to get Welker back into the contact sessions of practice, which he will be looking to take part in in the coming weeks. Though with the way Welker's recovery has gone so far I wouldn't be surprised if he was participating in contact drills  by the end of next week, as Welker has made a tremendously quick recovery up to this point.
