New Orleans Saints Safety Darren Sharper To Visit Jacksonville Jaguars

New Orleans free agent free safety Darren Sharper is making his first visit this offseason. Sharper is scheduled to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday, according to league sources.

The Jaguars did not draft a safety during last weekend’s draft and here are the current safeties: Reggie Nelson, Gerald Alexander, Sean Considine and Anthony Smith have done nothing to inspire confidence.

The Dallas Cowboys are also known to be looking at Sharper after releasing starting free safety Ken Hamlin before the draft. They also did not select a safety during the draft.

The Saints' safety had a career year in 2009, intercepting nine passes and providing invaluable leadership both on the field and in the locker field during the Saints run to the Super Bowl. He returned three interceptions for touchdowns.
