New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts: Jets Look to Get to Next Level with Win

Almost eight years ago to the day the New York Jets beat up on a young quarterback named Peyton Manning in a first-round playoff blowout that saw Chad Pennington go 19-for-25 with 222 yards passing and three touchdown passes as Gang Green cruised to a 41-0 shutout of the Colts.
Manning was less than mediocre as he was just 14-of-31 for 137 yards and two interceptions.
The Jets seemed on their way to a stretch of greatness as they would lose the following week to the eventual AFC Champion Oakland Raiders, but the team seemed set for the foreseeable future.
Instead, Pennington would be a victim of injuries too numerous to mention and it would be Peyton Manning that would begin a long playoff run that would yield two conference titles and a Super Bowl championship.
So as the Jets prepare for what looks like the most difficult road to a Super Bowl appearance, that path begins Saturday night in Indianapolis against the Colts.
