NFL Bargain Hunting: The Top 10 Unrestricted Free Agents Still Available

While most of the focus this time of year is on rookie mini camps and projections for draft classes, the bargain hunting portion of free agency is just getting started. As teams clear space for draft picks and free agent signees, older veterans with inflated contracts are often kicked to the curb without much regard; this is the way of the NFL. Add to that the large number of aging free agents that wait by the phones from March till training camp hoping for a call from any team willing to bring them in for a test drive. It combines for a large pool of talented players who generally come in at a cheap rate and fill holes for a season or two. Because 2010 is an uncapped season, teams were able to cut players without cap penalties and many used the opportunity as a way to purge their rosters of unwanted contracts.
