NFL Cuts: Redskins Release Four, Place Malcolm Kelly On Injured Reserve

At 4:00pm today, every team went through with their required day of roster cuts, slimming their team down from 80 players to 75. Unfortunately, over 800 football players were released and informed that their services would no longer be needed. Our Washington Redskins were one of those teams, and while there was no real surprises, it’s never fun to watch a guy go.
Edwin Williams (OL)
Williams made the team as an undrafted rookie last season (Maryland alum) and started two games at right guard. Williams, a Washington DC native, was competing for a backup job at left guard this season. However, it appears as if seventh-round draft selection Selvish Capers will hold that position for now. We wish the very best for Edwin.
Lendy Holmes (S)
Holmes played in eight games last season for the Redskins, mostly on special teams, but he will not be with the team this year. Holmes appeared to have a decent preseason thus far, with four tackles and an interception in th...
