NFL Draft 2011: Atlanta Falcons Looking to Dominate NFC with Defense

With A Top Offense, Falcons Need Defense to Catch Up
The Falcons boasted a bend-but-don’t-break defense throughout 2010. Despite surprising most with their defense, they failed in the 2010 Divisional Round of the playoffs against the eventual Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers.
The offense is set with Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez. Although the team desperately needs another wide receiver to take pressure off White, they can find one later in the draft.
It comes down to the offensive line and defensive line and whereas I pegged the Falcons for an offensive lineman last month, the Falcons should be bolstering the defensive line to attack the improving offenses of the NFC South.
Although Cameron Heyward is coming off Tommy John surgery, there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that he can be a star.
